Wrinkle Relaxers: Botox, Jeuveau & Dysport in Lexington, MA
Thoughtful treatment. Natural movement. Refined results.
Neuromodulators such as Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport are injectable treatments used to soften lines caused by repeated facial movement.
Rather than simply ‘freezing’ expression, treatment can be tailored to selectively reduce muscle activity while preserving natural movement and facial balance. Areas commonly treated include the forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet, and other areas where muscle activity contributes to visible lines or unwanted pull.
At Stellar Medical Aesthetics, every neuromodulator treatment is individualized based on facial anatomy, muscle strength, movement patterns, and your personal goals. The focus is on thoughtful dosing, precision, and results that look refreshed and balanced rather than overtreated.
Treatment may also help slow the deepening of movement-related lines over time. My approach is intentionally conservative and evidence-based, with patient safety, natural expression, and long-term facial harmony guiding every treatment plan.
Commonly injected areas for Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport include frown lines between the brows, sometimes referred to as "11s", horizontal forehead lines, and "crow’s feet" around the eyes. Many other areas may be injected as well for facial lifting, facial slimming, excessive sweating, chin dimpling, gummy smile, and downward turning smile.
Results occur gradually and typically reach full effect at 2 weeks and last an average of 3 to 4 months.

Wrinkle Relaxer FAQs
-
Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport are all botulinum toxin type A products, and are commonly referred to as as neuromodulators or wrinkle relaxers. Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport are injectables used to temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. These treatments work by relaxing the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as crow's feet, forehead lines, and frown lines, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.
-
These wrinkle relaxers work by blocking nerve signals to the targeted muscles, preventing them from contracting. This relaxation of the muscles reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines caused by repetitive facial expressions. The effects are temporary, typically lasting 3-4 months, after which the muscle activity gradually returns, and the wrinkles reappear.

Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport are intended to achieve similar results, but there are subtle differences between them. Botox is the first FDA approved neuromodulator and longest history of use in medical aesthetics. Dysport is more molecularly potent and tends to have a greater spread of effect, which may be beneficial for treating larger areas such as the forehead. Jeuveau is the newest of the three products; it is known for its precision and fast onset of action. All three are effective in reducing wrinkles; the choice of product depends on the individual's needs, preferences, and provider recommendations.
-
The treatment involves a series of small injections into the targeted muscles, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes. Most patients experience minimal discomfort, and numbing cream or ice can be used to reduce any discomfort. After the treatment, there may be slight redness or swelling at the injection sites, which typically subsides within a few hours. You can resume normal activities immediately, but it is advised to avoid strenuous exercise and not to rub the treated area for at least 24 hours.
-
The results of wrinkle relaxers generally last 3-4 months. Some experience slightly shorter or longer duration. There is a gradual return of muscle movement. Peak effect occurs 2 weeks after injections. To maintain a smooth, youthful appearance, it is recommended to schedule follow-up treatments every 3-4 months. Regular treatments prevent the deepening of existing wrinkles and the formation of new ones. Your provider will help you create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
